Christ is risen!
I'm trying to remember the name of a sit com (American) of the 1990s I believe. The main plot was a rather responsible (if dorky) young married couple have her less than responsible sister and her rather never do well husband living in the guest house or some such thing: the running gag was they basically dependent on the first couple. I can picture the actors but can't remember their names. Any ideas?

I tried and I couldn't figure it out. I can't seem to recall a 90's sitcom involving two married couples living together.

That's almost every sitcom ever. But I believe you are referring to King of Queens. That 70's Show was only one of a few to break that mold. Btw, in Saudi Arabia "I Love Lucy" is banned because of perceived disrespect and rebelliion of Lucy against her husband. |

I believe it's a cultural thing, that Americans can't fathom such a thing happening. I wonder if the stereotypical situation happens in other culture's sitcoms? |

A guy doesn't care about story or personality, they either need big explosions or an attractive woman. Women, on the other hand, being vastly superior to the pigs, do indeed like eye candy, but will nonetheless settle for other things (a love story, a good story, an interesting character, etc.) So Hollywood gives the pigs the pretty girl, and tries to keep the women happy with other stuff. It's just a theory... but I'm pretty sure it's based on facts (e.g. men are definitely pigs). |
