I've been meaning to ask this for a while but have been unable - My parents made a trip to the Holy Land and brought me back an icon of Christ from St. Catherine's. The icon sits on my desk at work so I don't have it readily accessable when I think to ask this question.
Anyway as in most icons of Christ, he's holding a book open. With my rudementary Greek I was able to do a partial translation but nothing which I could get to make sense, anyway below is my transcription of what it says, I'm hoping someone can help me translate it to English (Sorry about the lack of breathing marks, I don't know how to type those):
Ο πισεν ων εις εμε
καναγο θανη ζησετσι
If I've copied incorrectly (icons are never the easiest to read) I can post a photograph if needed, but I'm hoping that's close enough.
