This is a topic that I am very interested in. How in our current cultures happiness has become an idol instead of the good but ephemerous feeling of bliss that we sometimes have. One of the worst consequences is this awful cult of positive thinking and I think this journalist got it right. Her only mistake is that she says it is an American problem. It is not. I can say that at least here in Brazil it is also an issue, and even more since being happy and cheerful is so embedded in our national identity. So I changed the title a bit. Smiley

The movie Tsar centers around the relationship between Ivan the Terrible (Pyotr Mamonov) and Saint Philip II of Moscow (Oleg Yankovsky).
It's really good  Smiley

A Tribute to the Emperor Justinian

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKBop-9j0w8

Now, I by no means admire the man, but this tribute is pretty well put together and the music was quite cool.

And a more heterodox tribute to St. Constantine

plus she's Not A Orthodox Christian can't remember what she is, Maybe Maronite Catholic...definitely  not Orthodox though......

Well according to Wikipedia she is indeed an Orthodox. She was born into an Eastern Catholic family though.

No She's Not, According to some Arab Eastern Othodox Christians from Lebanon, here in chicago that i asked said no.... But she is some Kind of A Ecumenist Though ,sings everybodies hymns and goes to any church orthodox or not to preform if invited......

Fairuz IS an Orthodox Christian (Antiochian Greek Orthodox Patriarchiate). She converted when she married her husband, one of the famous Rahbani brothers (who is Orthodox). Her father was Syriac Orthodox and her mother was a Maronite. In Lebanon, most Christians (Orthodox, Maronite, Greek Catholic) are culturally familiar and close to the hymns/chants of all the different churches of in the Middle East.
