The board will be going down Thursday night/Friday morning somewhere around midnight EDT. It will be restored on Saturday evening around 7 pm EDT. The time offset for bringing it back is because our friends in Australia will be waiting eagerly for the rest of us to catch up and we want to alleviate their wait somewhat For those new to the board, we shut it down the first day of Lent and then on Holy Friday and Saturday so our moderators have a break and so that no one is tempted to post rather than pray.

Bite your tongue! Surely today's technology is infallible! However, just in case..... ....wishing all the Fathers, brothers and sisters in Christ, a peaceful remainder of Holy Week. ....eagerly anticipating joining everyone in celebrating our Lord's Resurrection.

Lord have mercy on all of us (for caring this much about a message board! ) I am, too, upset with the closing but I totally understand. It will give me absolutely no excuses to put off spending time in my prayer corner (can't go to any of the services until Saturday because of my work schedule ). "See" you all on Pascha, everyone! May the remainder of your Holy Week be blessed.

Isn't it funny how we've gotten to "know" and care about so many people on this board?
It's almost like an extended family.

I think so! When I used to be involved in theater, I posted on a message board with a lot of different people who acted in theaters across the U.S. Many of us ended up becoming friends, speaking on the phone several times a month, and actively being involved in each other's lives. I never knock the potential for a message board to forge such friendships and feelings of unity. And I am grateful to have found one with a diverse group of Orthodox brothers and sisters...and I await the day I join all of you in the Church.

At 12:30 am EDT I am going to shut the board down. I try to wait for last minute posters to be done before I pull the plug, so they don't lose what they are writing, but sometimes people don't notice that the board is going down despite the warning messages, and at some point I have to cut people off. So please aim to stop posting by 12:00 am EDT so I have a nice window to work with. Thanks!

It is. I kept everyone in mind during the board shut-off, and was wondering how everyone was doing at their different churches. A blessed Pascha to everyone.

Methinks we need to change the forum theme now. Lent's over! Hey, I was entitled to sleep, too, right? We left our Greenville, NC Orthodox Church at about 2:30 am and got back to Raleigh (where I live) at 4:00 am. Needless to say, I slept after that, but then had all the customary Paschal things to attend to the rest of the day. Hence, the delay. I was going to switch it over to a theme I had with "Christ is Risen" but couldn't find it so figured I'd just post the standard one back for now.

^ The "standard" one is quite nice and bright - a worthy theme for our Paschal season here.
