I was at a conference last week were the Key Note Speaker was Dr. Stephen Mosher who is a well respected demographer.
It is imperative that people in the advanced nations have more children. Europe, Japan and most notelably China are in trouble. They are no where near population replacement rates and we can look foward to their collapse.
For example, China has had a forced one child per family rule for a long time now. The result is an unsustainable social structure, There will be one male to support wife, family, his parents, her parents and both their grandparents.
So you can stop worrying about a rising China. They're done.... Same with Japan. No young people. And the math of the situation is that once you are on a downward slide of depopulation, it is very hard to turn around. The Japanese will need to start having five or six kids per family right away.. Not going to happen.
Russia is a little better off. Dr. Mosher is going to meet with Government officials there in a couple of months. They are considering allowing families who have babies to live tax free. He is also meeting with the Patriarch.
The USA is in decent shape. Predictions of our demise were premature.
The average age in Egypt is around 25. Keep a weather eye on the Moslems who have out babied us.

Colourful metaphor removed and replaced. I know that the expression in question could have been worse, but please try to keep your language clean in the public fora. - Pravoslavbob, non-religious topics moderator.
