Doors of the Armenian Church in Geneva were closed. The Church Council decided to close the church on Sunday.

However, a reliable source told Armenian News-NEWS.am, church closed its doors not to let in the believers and a delegation from Etchmiadzin by Fr. Abel Manoukian.

Why have they done this?  Has the Armenian community there dried up, or was it politically motivated?

I remember reading how their was a large Armenian community that settled in the Rhone valley of France after the genocide.  are they till there?

Catholicos Karekin just appointed a locum tenens for the Armenian Orthodox Diocese of Switzerland, so perhaps this is a dispute between the cathedral in Geneva and the Catholicate?
