Spartacus, in another thread, was upset that he did not get a response from his diocese concerning pro-abortion Catholic politicians and their reception of Holy Communion.  I too am troubled by this obvious dichotomy concerning true discipleship and the reception of the mysteries of the Church.  So, this got me to thinking: are things in this regard any better in the Orthodox Church than they are in the Catholic Church?  The pro-abort politicians in the Catholic Church are well known, having been in the news lately, but what about pro-abortion Orthodox politicians like Dukakis, Songas, etc.?  Have they been refused Holy Communion because of their pro-abortion stance?

Just curious.
