As I've been in Greece, I've seen that most Orthodox Churches here place the crucifix of Christ directly behind the altar. It got me to thinking why I don't remember seeing this in Slavic-Oriented Churches.

Is this also the custom in all Orthodox Churches? Where else is it placed in your Churches?
