Museum tells story of Christian presence in the Holy Land
« on: April 17, 2011, 02:15:39 PM »
A museum called Wujoud, located in Jerusalem, highlights Christian history in the Holy Land.

From the article:
Quote
"The fact that Christians have been here since ancient times is often overlooked," explained museum founder Nora Kort, herself a member of the Greek Orthodox  community.
My only weakness is, well, never mind

"Museum tells story of Christian presence in the Holy Land"

At the rate things are going, that's soon going to be the only place in the middle east you'll be able to see a Christian...

One of our priests, Fr. Efrem Handal, was born in Bethlehem.  He's in his mid 50s.  He's said more than once that a great majority of the people in Bethlehem were Christians when he was growing up.... not now.

Yeah, except for the hundreds of thousands of Russian Orthodox who have moved into the area and are invigorating the Christian presence.

There's a pogrom going on against Christians in the middle east right now, but whatever.

It's been going on for decades.  The Muslims used "replacement theology" to get the Christians on their side in the wars just prior to 1948, and the Arab and other Eastern Christians have been paying a price for that.  However, the Israelis and the Muslims may find that the Russians are not so easily cowered, especially if a certain Prime Minister comes into play.

In spite of the tribulations of the Palestinians, the exodus of Palestinian Christians in no way empties the Middle East of Christians, because immigration to Israel has brought a substantial amount. Quit your melodrama.

"Quit your melodrama."

You're quite the Christian.

Have a blessed Pascha.
