Thousands of Christians have been forced to flee their homes in Western Ethiopia after Muslim extremists set fire to roughly 50 churches and dozens of Christian homes.

At least one Christian has been killed, many more have been injured and anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 have been displaced in the attacks that began March 2 after a Christian in the community of Asendabo was accused of desecrating the Koran.

I just read the whole article and I can barely believe this is happening.

Lord have mercy.

Lord Have Mercy!

They prove to us over and over that they are no religion of peace.

Islam IS the religion of peas.

In English we think of peas as the absence of conflict. Silly English!

In Arabic, however, peas[1] means "submission," hence you get ideas like "peas on earth by submission to Mohammad through sword and dhimmitude if necessary," or something like that, but it's all about peas...
______________
[1]Compare the common Semitic root S-L-M in the following words:

* Salaam "peace"
* Islam "submission"
* Muslim "One who submits"
* Taslim — "receiving SLM" — to receive a salutation or becoming submitted
* Mostaslim — "wanting to receive SLM" — no longer seeking opposition/conflict, the one who is submitted...

So Islam IS indeed the religion of peas, by definition.

‘Near-Genocide Conditions’ for Iraqi Christians, Archbishop Says

March 23rd, 2011  http://www.catholic-sf.org/news_select.php?newsid=2&id=58348   Brief excerpts:
(CNS) — An Iraqi archbishop spoke of “near-genocide conditions” for Christians in his country and said those fleeing violence were straining resources in other parts of the country...

“We are living in a region which cannot decide if it is for democracy or Islamic law,” he said... the rest of world’s governments had “turned their backs on us, as if the human rights abuses and near-genocide conditions Iraqi Christians experience are temporary.”

  Just fixed the link above to be an actual link.  No issues...just thought it would be nice if people didn't have to copy & paste.  Also, shortened your quote box to conform with forum rules.  -  Serb1389. General Fora Moderator.
