Ethiopia: Candlelight vigil held for slain cab driver in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) – Friends, loved ones, and fellow cabbies gathered in downtown Las Vegas Wednesday night to remember a taxi driver who was murdered last week.Police say 30-year-old Tesfaye Arze was robbed and shot to death near Mount Hood and Carey early last Friday morning.
The vigil, which took place just before 6 pm Wednesday, began with two minutes of silent prayer. Friends of Arze then each took the microphone and told the crowd that they will not sit silently until Arze's killer pays for the life he has taken.Arze moved to Southern Nevada about nine months ago from Ethiopia and was working as a cab driver to support family back home.
