I was watching the Jack Van Impe show a few nights ago and he stated that Russia was "Gog and MaGog" from the Book of Ezechial and that they would attack Israel some time in the future which will start WWIII.

Now I know that most OC and even RC Churches don't hold to that interpretation, but what exactly is the traditional Christian view of these prophecies? 
How can an Orthoodx country such as Russia be used as an instrument of evil to attack Israel and usher in the apocolypse?
