D'oh! I had completely forgotten St. Lucy's day. Too bad that I've probably missed the processions. I'd really like to see Finnish Orthodox parishes embrace this custom.

This is interesting.  I know it isn't a polar bear, but I do not recognize the actual animal species.  Maybe someone else can figure it out.  In any event, whatever it is, it is cute.

Photos are not exceptionally good but IMO they have great ethnographic value.
