It's Serbian thing: the feast of the family's patron. Every Serbian family has its own particular patron. It was the day that the first ancestor of the family was baptised. There are some special rituals for Slava, e.g backing of the Slavski Kolač (something between cake and bread), singing the same troparions as for wedding, drinking red wine (symbol of the Martyrs' blood) with special prayers-toasts called Slavarica and so on |
