Lot and his daughters being led out of Sodom and Gomorrah

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die [...] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -The Lord Jesus Christ

Opera!

While I certainly would not refuse angels coming to get me at my death, it would also be nice to be brought to heaven by one of these - as long as it was the real heaven, of course.

I don't know how "good" it is, but, here's one I took:  My niece was disappointed when she ran outside and saw that it wasn't really a shade of blue.

I took my godchildren to a historic museum...and I found these hanging in the gift shop.

Better than mine:

I needs to get a camera that can capture the moon and stars.

There was another thread a while back about the "Holy Family" and LBK hijacked it claiming that the concept wasn't Orthodox and that Icons of Joseph carrying the Christ child were uncanonical.

Some very pretty pictures together with a small question. :)

Do all women in rural Russia dress like this in church or just the old believers?

Do not be cast down over the struggle - the Lord loves a brave warrior. The Lord loves the soul that is valiant.

Honestly, if I hadn't just read about the Winged Hussars on Bad-ass of The Week (hey mods, is using bad-ass OK per the new rules, or at least in this case since it's a proper noun?) I would've thought this was straight out of some fantasy novel.

A lovely (yet uncanonical) Icon of the most Holy Trinity:

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die [...] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -The Lord Jesus Christ
