He was playing at grandma's today and was left alone for 2 minutes and got into the markers.  When asked why he colored on himself he stated, "I didn't color myself.  They are owies."  He then proceeded to stick out his lower lip and gave a sad look.  Only two years old and already lying!  Couldn't be mad though.  He is so sweet. So how many of us have more than one pair of shoes, more than the clothes on our backs, food in the fridge and cabinets and money in the bank or vault, and don't spend every possible minute doing charity?

I wonder why we trot out these sentiments and then ignore them?

Really?

I thought the sentiment rather appropriate for Lent.

So, let's not ignore the sentiment. Let's try to actually do something to help the poor.

We're making bag lunches this Saturday to feed local homeless.  You are more than welcome to join us. Smiley

The sentiment is well taken. It was not meant as a criticism directed at you.

I just truly wonder why we hold put forth such strong words and then live how we do.

St. Paul had it right. It's madness.

EDIT: While not quite yet homeless, it ain't unlikely. But I'll probably head toward different clime at that point than here or your neck of the woods.

Well, sometimes we need to be reminded over and over and over until we understand.

I know my mom had to repeat herself a number of times when I was young, until her lesson took root and stuck.

Well, sometimes we need to be reminded over and over and over until we understand.

I know my mom had to repeat herself a number of times when I was young, until her lesson took root and stuck.

But this is simple, if a little difficult. And it is just a little. I've been "homeless".

Give all that stuff away. That ain't hard. Where I live, I could just open my door and say come get it. It would out within a few hours.

We just got out of the Parable of the Judgement.

I shudder every time.

Sobering words your post. Just me ruminating to no good end likely.

I don't think your comment was appropriate. First and for most you shouldn't call anyone barbarian...that's just plain cruel...especially coming out of a christian person. Second, everybody deserves freedom. We are all the children of God and nobody deserves to be under the oppression of another...so next time you wanna make a comment like that, please think twice.

I collect photos of various rebel groups, and the one above is one that I had in my collection (although not so large).  The Liberian Rebels were certainly a strangly dressed lot.

Just one of thousands of reasons why these barbarians need to be colonized.

Perhaps I should post some of the pictures that I have from this war.  They would meet the definition of barbarian in whatever way you wanted to take the word, and make my Nazi ancestors look angelic.  I do, however, totally disagree with the idea of colonization.
