Tell that to my husband, who I haven't seen for the past week because he's been working 14 hour days. 
If you don't mind my asking, what does he do? My father works (pt) for FEMA and goes out a couple times a year when a hurricane or something happens. Seems like a crappy job to me, from what I gather... working basically as long as there's daylight, usually in bad weather/a hot sun all that time, but I guess it's nice to get a bunch of hours in at once.

he works on more of the labor side of that, for a private company.
They get work for a ton of different things, but post-disasters is the time where they literally work around the clock in houses, commercial buildings, outside, to restore basic functions (water, electricity) and clean up the area. It's already an insane amount of hours, and after the earthquake and hurricane that hit the area, he's been non-stop. He came home around 7 PM last night, and that was a miracle.
