Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Once Christ has filled the Cross, it can never be empty again.

Vigil of the feast of st. Nicholas and martyr Gregory (Peradze) - Auschwitz martyr, in st. Gregory Peradze parish in Warsaw, Poland; photos taken by Mariusz Wideryński

I'm visible on the right (just next to the father with red vestments and glasses), next to me my mother is standing (short blonde hair).

Nice!  What's the story with the big cross in the middle?

It's a Georgian custom to put such big cross in the middle of the church and st. Gregory Peradze, the patron of this parish, was born in Georgia, taht's the 1st reason. The second reason is that (from what I've heard) before Russian occupation in Poland (and, in consequence, swithcing to be under Moscow instead of Constantinople) in the Orthodox churches there were such crosses too. And this parish is very-Polish oriented as it goes for liturgics (it uses only Polish at the services).

Sometimes while loading a website it will stall for a while; that happened a moment ago with oc.net and here's where it got stuck at:

At first I thought someone had hacked the site or something

In the centre - my parish church. The blocks in the background (actually, the very right) are part of my housing estate where I live.
The trees between the church and housing estates are the biggest Orthodox cemetery in Poland (two members of my family are buried there) plus a park.
It's a place that Polish nation (both Orthodox and Catholic) was fighting the German occupators during the second world war, in September 1939 and August 1944.

the same ^^ area in the beginning of the XX century
There is more visible (in the modern photo you can see only the tower) RC church (the Orthodox parish is in the background). This RC church is the oldest church in Warsaw after the cathedral in the old town; it's from XIV-XV century. For some time it used to be an Orthodox church, until the time of construction of the current Orthodox church (1905) that's my parish.
My parents got married in this RC church, I was baptised there, and I was chrismated in the Orthodox church that's actually the next to this RC church (as you can see in the picture).

Edit: my great grandfather was baptised in another church close to these 2 ones; so my (Polish) family and I are really related to this district (even precisely: area) of Warsaw.
