Serbian Athonite monk of great schema Stephan (Схиархимандрит Стефан), died in 2001, fool for Christ (jurodivij)

I've just discovered this person, so don't know so much about him, but seems to be interesting

Here is some information on him:

World Press Photo of the Year

The title does more for the photo, although the photo is still very good, haunting.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

All liturgical colors are present.  I would guess the cleric wearing vestments like these would not be too worried about the appropriate liturgical color.

Interestingly, in the past few years MC Hammer has been collaborating with Mike Bickle (yes, the IHOP guy) and other figures in the neo-Pentecostal movement.
I'm not going to be posting as much on OC.Net as before. I might stop in once in a while though. But I've come to realize that real life is more important.

I already know I am strange, but the picture has some background; just wondering about it
I cannot discern if the worker, who happens to be most folks' around here idea of what Jesus looks like, is thinking of Heaven or what?
Is he smiling? grimacing, or neutral about such strenuous activity?
Again, not only me, but the picture is strange.

Not sure what protestant sect, since it seems like something printed in the 1970s.  The imagery most likely has to do with Revelations.

It's just something I saw during a Google image search.

All of it.

Let's examine these quotes for context.

Jefferson's quote is a paraphrased version of his letter to Joseph Priestly. The complete quote goes: "...those who live by mystery & charlatanerie, fearing you would render them useless by simplifying the Christian philosophy, the most sublime & benevolent, but most perverted system that ever shone on man, endeavored to crush your well earnt, & well deserved fame." A far more nuanced opinion of Christianity, although still far from a ringing endorsement. But then, nobody (except the flag-wavingest David Barton evangelicals) has ever attempted to claim Jefferson as a paragon of Christianity.

Adams's quote was also abridged and it turns out the full quote is quite different. “Twenty times in the course of my late reading have I been on the point of breaking out, ‘This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!!!’ But in this exclamation I would have been as fanatical as Bryant or Cleverly. Without religion this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company, I mean hell."

The Franklin quote might be fake. Even this atheist seems to think so.

Washington's quote doesn't really imply secularism; after all, Protestant and Mormon conservatives who already believe the Constitution is a Christian (or even divinely inspired) document would also say the same thing.
