Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Please, there are some pictures just not worth commenting or asking about.  Just let it go, move on, happy new year!

It's actually my father's hobby. He spends there all the time after returning from work. All I did there was mowing, watering, chopping wood and occasionally some digging. For me, it could be poured with concrete and I wouldn't mind.

My father comes from a peasant family. I think for him it's a return to his early years. My mother, on the other hand, comes from a family that moved to a town a generation before (her parents worked at a secret military factory), she has no memories about agricultural life and she does nothing to that garden as well.

At some point or another in our lives we turn inward and contemplate the "big questions of existence," such as: who am I, what is my purpose in life, and why is this hippo chasing me?

Love it. My worst nightmare.
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai

Whenever I've been chased by a hippo, I've always known the reason.  And, for the hippo, it has always been a  good reason.

Yeah, whoever drew this comic made a little booboo. Hezbollah is a proxy for Iran (who are definitely not friendly towards Saudis or Sunnis). Al-Shabaab would have been a better fit.

At least they didn't make the even bigger mistake of drawing a piglet with "Assad" on it.

Come to think of it, depicting Islamists as pigs is a little ironic, no? (Although I'm sure the irony was intended).

Design of a church in my city that is going to be adapted from some existing building. It prompted some reservations from urban conservation officer and most people that are not blind. However, in our clericalised country it most likely go through.

-10/-15 here, started right a couple of days before New Year, no snow, though.

Our more chillier weathers started few days ago. Some snow too but not too much. It seems to be slowly snowing a bit more though. Hopefully a lot more.

I don't mind the temperature but I must admit that that the wind does have it's effect. I used to live inland and it didn't feel nearly as cold as here despite the lower temperatures.

Well, his baptism is certainly commemorated on Theophany.

But it wouldn't be icy water. Middle-East is not Russia, and surely Saint John the Baptist wasn't wearing army jacket like the priest. Why Russian priests like to hold guns and wear army jackets, are they trying to play tough?

So we move Theophany later in the Calendar the farther north believers live?

Also, Raylight, I don't think they're "playing tough." If you're as tough, I'd like to see evidence of it.

Mike, maybe if you came face-to-face with more adolescent boys, you'd be able to start to figure out yourself.

That's hardly the problem.
