You are not alone, but then not all Catholics make me want to do that, most of the time.

What about what this picture represents ? Whether you like it or not, do you saying that a painting about the Virgin Mary makes you want to throw up is appropriate ?

So because The Theotokas is in this, then all is good?
I was told there exists some "artist" who covered a picture of Our Dear Lady in dung........would that have an affect on you and would that affect be appropriate?
This picture is mellifluous, which is to say to sweet for consumption.
I know there are things that some like and others do not for what ever "reason"; I can understand the intent of the artist and I can agree with same, but the outcome is more than distracting than helpful for such an intention.  Forgive me if I upset you.

Ecce mono.

The is a whole different story. I heard and please correct me if I'm wrong, that an old woman from Spain or Italy ruined the whole painting by trying to "fix" it.

Jesus told her to do it.

He should have included instructions on how to do it...  8)

And the saga continues. She is suing the church for proceeds from visitors that come look at it.

Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;

I might never have guessed that that was a she, until I saw the difference between the hair color and beard color, and the fact that the "priest" vested without cuffs. An amateur mistake, if ever I saw one.

Many Energies, 3 Persons, 2 Natures, 1 God, 1 Church, 1 Baptism, and 1 Cup. The Son begotten only from the Father, the Spirit proceeding only from the Father, Each glorifying the Other. The Son sends the Spirit, the Spirit Reveals the Son, the Father is seen in the Son. The Spirit spoke through the Prophets and Fathers and does so even today.
