You can grab the middle finger and prevent the whole banner from waving on wind or doing other unwanted moves. The other two are added so that it won't have phallic connotations - my guess.

Sounds reasonable.

This was in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Cana Wedding in Galilee.  I was wondering if someone can tell me what are those hanging on the wall with the "three fingers".

I would say procession banners
^  Yeah,  that would be my call.

Is there any significance for the shape it takes?

You can grab the middle finger and prevent the whole banner from waving on wind or doing other unwanted moves. The other two are added so that it won't have phallic connotations - my guess.

That sort of thing doesn't bother the Christian Scientists, though. The Christian Science church in Dixon, Illinois looks like this:

They even used the slogan "Rising Up" in one of their Facebook posts. No joke.
I'm not going to be posting as much on OC.Net as before. I might stop in once in a while though. But I've come to realize that real life is more important.

Unlike the McDonalds ad, this Butterfinger ad is actually intentional. I had to put up one of these displays at my workplace today.

Try-curious, I mean.  I haven't had a Butterfinger in years.

I had a Butterfinger Easter Egg a few days ago. Made sure to buy it several days late so it'd be 70% off. I'm such a cheapskate.

Don't feel bad.  I did the same with Reese's eggs.  I think they taste better than the regular cups and I really like those.  Really.

As in, if a dirty bum handed me one, I'd more than likely still eat it without thinking about it.

All he needs is a turban and a Bible in his hand, with a Taliban "ally" alongside him and then it'd be 100% accurate.

Isn't lower life expectancy in the pre-modern era largely a function of much higher infant mortality? I.e. if you survive till 5, you normally go on to live about the same length of time as people today, minus perhaps a decade of your last years when you don't have healthcare to artificially delay death.

That's true of the Middle Ages. I'm not sure to what extent it applies to the Stone Age, though.

That guy's life needs to have a movie made out of it, I can tell.

Isn't there a Cannon that says Priests cannot punch out others?
You sure he's a Priest, cause he looks like one Bad PapaJama.

Yeah.

I was thinking the gun was for hunting, though.

Which is also forbidden for priests.

And here I thought we had the most practical religion!
But then I didn't know they had guns in the 3rd Century.

BTW, I noticed it appears he's wearing fur. So I am sure the animals didn't skin themselves too?

The problem is not with guns but the shedding of blood, priests also aren't supposed to slaughter farm animals. They can eat meat and wear fur though
