Thought I'd share this pic from my youngest daughters Chrismation today.

It came out really well. Has a kind of artsy feel to it, perhaps.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Armenian orthodox clergy march during a military parade marking the 20th anniversary of Armenia's independence in Yerevan, Armenia.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Once Christ has filled the Cross, it can never be empty again.

Yes, I am. It wasn't really a conscious choice or anything. I was driving around town that day, and figured it was just a good a day as any to check out an Orthodox Church. Since the Carpatho-Russian Church was closed, the next closest option was the Old Rite Church. I literally walked in as they were having a catechumen class, which started the year long process that finished with my baptism this past June.

There's one on here, but it's not something I'm proud of. Going back to right before I was baptized (when my post was written) to quite recently, I carried a lot of baggage from when I was a dedicated Roman Catholic. I bashed my former parish in a way that would really hurt some of the people there (including my family) who played a seminal role in my spiritual formation as a child; without which I would have never had the foundation that would latter allow me to seek the truth in Orthodoxy. It was too emotional, too clouded by all the things that were going through my head at the time, and focused too little on what I saw in Orthodoxy (and the Old Rite) while spending too much time describing the intellectual process that led me from Catholicism, to atheism, back to Catholicism, to Orthodoxy.

If you'd like, I can send you a PM focusing on my direct experience coming from Roman Catholicism (Latin Rite Novus Ordo) to the Old Rite of the Russian Orthodox Church.

It's a toss up for me as to which of these ideas is more repulsive.  I think I'll go with "Assad as a Japanese chick".
I'm with the camp of 13 million Americans that believe politicians are, or are controlled by, Reptilians. I think only monks can solve this problem. It doesn't seem right that they prefer to ignore it.

I love the Winter. I just love it so much. The cold, the rain, the wind and the snow. No matter how bad it is sometimes. Even when I'm having bad time, somehow it is much easier during the winter time.

From the article:

A photo of a budding member of the Boston Police Department’s K-9 force sent a shockwave of ‘awws’ across the Internet Monday.

The photo, which was posted to Reddit, is from Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog, a non-profit that helps provide bulletproof vests, essential equipment, training, and purchase of dogs for police and law enforcement K-9 programs throughout the state.

My only weakness is, well, never mind

I'm not going to be posting as much on OC.Net as before. I might stop in once in a while though. But I've come to realize that real life is more important.

'Evil isn't the real threat to the world. Stupid is just as destructive as evil, maybe more so, and it's a hell of a lot more common. What we really need is a crusade against stupid. That might actually make a difference.'~Harry Dresden
