nice!

Where's this? And when was this mosaic made?

It's from the Kykkos Monastery in Cyprus.

And this says that the frescoes were made by "the Kepola brothers, Cypriot icon painters, and of others from Greece and Romania." Which appears to mean late-20th century, since the two brothers made icons for a church in 1991-1992 (here).

And here's an interesting excerpt I stumbled across from Adoro te devote, an Eucharistic hymn by Thomas Aquinas:

Quote
Pelican of mercy, Jesus, Lord and God,
Cleanse me, wretched sinner, in Thy Precious Blood:
Blood where one drop for human-kind outpoured
Might from all transgression have the world restored.

That Jesus looks 80!

I am now trying to imagine Jesus delivering the Sermon on the Mount using the voice of Leonard Nimoy (this voice, specifically). Interesting...  8)

This is a picture of the screen while I was watching the Roku TV broadcast of the channel for Blind Cat Rescue, an animal shelter in North Carolina. They have an all-day webcam of the main room. Here, you will usually see the cats play, eat, sleep, and be awesome. And then there's what happened today: three cats picked the same box at the same time, in which to take a nap. Just below the wheel in the middle of the shot, you can see a black cat sleeping on top of another black cat, while a gray cat is asleep squished in the corner. Another gray cat is walking by. :)

Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,

I've always thought quite the opposite actually.  The preceding Serbian patriarch had good relations with our churches.

I think he's praying at the altar of a Syriac Church.  And I'm curious to know.  Is His Holiness wearing a Syriac vestment?
