Like a boss.

I wish that hierarchs would re-adopt the older style vestments.

Do you have in mind the style of mitre in this photo, "vesting as a priest", or something else?

His Grace Bishop David made a joke about my hair after he tonsured me. In fact he kinda apologized for cutting so much. I ended up thanking him and we laughed  :D
My sister is also in the background

Cut his beard? or maybe just make the sign of the cross where the cuts would be.

Probably the mitre, definitely the polystavrion. Polystavrion for the win  8)

I like it when bishops use the phelonion.

One think I've often wondered is when/why the sakkos evolved from a short-sleeved vestment (as it is often depicted in icons) to a long, wide-sleeved vestment.

I agree, I think they should do it more often.

How bizarre, I have never seen bishops acting as deacons.  :P

Eh, I don't know about that.  Maybe when comparing the average parish in both Churches, yes, but I think the vestments in the photo I posted are great.

Cardinal deacons are now typically bishops, but it was not always so until fairly recently, let alone in the beginning.

The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai

The protodeacon looks like a boss! Pity Copts and Chalcedonians can't serve together, because he looks like he could serve with the Patriarch of Moscow. He is professional, but I think he would be a good guy to be with as well.

Antonious Nikolas, That's Upstate. If you're from New York/Jersey, you know who  ;) 8) To be quite honest, and I don't say this often, but I like that western painting. But I do believe it belongs outside the altar. We have a lot of (beautiful) semi western paintings of events of the bible and saints by our archpriest so it might be a difficult task!
For everyone else, this is Virgin Mary and Saint Pachomius Church

ilyazhito, that's Deacon Cyril, Bishop David's deacon. He's so down to earth and simple. Awesome person to talk to and be around. I've spoken to him a number of times. I spoke to him after liturgy that day and was in awe of how cool he is. Awesome role model in my opinion. He's all for the Lord - celibate.

Yes sir.  His sister in egypt does all of our official icons. I've seen him do some but they always get sent somewhere else.
As for Thomas Sunday, the Theophany and some other large western paintings, those are his work.

Here is a rare image of the Putin emerging from the water (in his fish capacity) and getting ready to take flight (his bird capacity). It is a little known fact that V. Putin and C. Norris are the only two living beings to have simultaneously been birds, fish, humans, and deified overlords.

It was a joke. It's basically making fun of stereotypes.

Indeed. They are the strongest animal in comparison to their size.

So, how come people in Finland don't just, um, move?

 ???

If a person smiles in Finland, is he or she asked to leave?

It was a joke. It's basically making fun of stereotypes.

Okay, sorry. :)
My only weakness is, well, never mind

A pelican?

It's a mythical pelican, like the Phoenix.  Both were thought to exist.  The mythical pelican was thought to feed her young with her blood.

Like a boss.

I wish that hierarchs would re-adopt the older style vestments.

Do you have in mind the style of mitre in this photo, "vesting as a priest", or something else?

Mainly the use of the phelonion. The furry mitre is hit or miss.

nice!

Where's this? And when was this mosaic made?
Vain existence can never exist, for "unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127)

If the faith is unchanged and rock solid, then the gates of Hades never prevailed in the end.
