Heinz was brought in because if this Council doesn't cut the mustard then Orthodoxy is going to be in a real pickle.

That is a beautiful icon!  Do you know where I could purchase one?
The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

If one wants to confess a pure doctrine of Orthodoxy, they should be careful not to refer to the earth as a planet, unlike the current Pope as well as Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew, who regularly speak in error when they refer to our planet earth.

They'll probably not even agree on what brand of ketchup to use.

The Fathers of the last truly true Ecumenical Council graciously accepted the iconoclasts without much more than repentance and a proper confession of faith. This cannot be allowed for those who blasphemously use non-Heinz products. By their actions they reveal that they are in dire need of exorcism and baptism.

I was looking for examples on internet to show you, and failed to find any. :D  Only exception is when entire baroque iconostasis was shot. From my experience, 18 to middle 20 Churches have baroque iconostases and Icons... and Deisis among them. In Serbia, this is in most cases in North (Vojvodina province). Only from 20 century, we can follow return to Byzsntine traditional Iconography. St. Sava Church walls will be painted in Byzantine style mosaics, and with Byzantine iconostasis. All newer Churches, built in last 30 years, follow Byzantine iconography patterns.

That looks way too organized to be a proper Orthodox procession. Are you sure those aren't Maronites in disguise?

They're definitely Orthodox, though at least one of the Facebook comments noted (with surprise and pleasure) the coordination of the event(s).  :)

Why do Orthodox use a picture of the Theotokos that resembles Our Lady of Fatima?
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Now that's an ice water challenge!

It's actually rather nice hobby. The feeling is quite ecstatic when you get back to sauna after swimming in an icy water. Some people do it without sauna though. Should probably try it sometimes.

Also,  it is said that if you swim regularly in an icy lake you'll never get flu or anything.

I believe Maria is referencing the image on the banners in their procession, which resembles Our Lady of Victory:

I agree . . . heresy!  Best ones are fresh, homemade and made by one's grandma or purchased at a church sale :)

I have to confess, the frozen Mrs. T's Pierogis where what my mom used to make for us growing up, sauteed in butter and onions . . . and she was Slovak!

I was a little afraid in replying and understanding what the heresy is, hoping this would not turn into an EO/OO debate ;)

its the Jalapeno in pierogi part....

those are not a traditional pierogi filling ingredient...;)

Thank God it has nothing to do with Severino  ;)

I noticed that....but let it slide...again....sometimes one 'makes do'

it was more that -everything- does not need to have Mexican Chilli peppers in it to 'be yummy'

;)

I've seen it all now.

From the Bikers & Monks Unite in the Fight Against MS at St Shenouda Monastery in Sydney Australia

They make vow to not own nothing.

I see such thing for first time.

Where?
I believe Maria is referencing the image on the banners in their procession, which resembles Our Lady of Victory:

I was wondering the same thing.

Ah.  There are Copts among us so they can probably explain it better.  I presumed it was a fondness for Western style images, but then I saw some photographs of the Zeitoun apparitions in which our Lady appeared at times in more or less this "pose", so then I wondered if this image became popular for that reason.  These are just guesses, though.
