Gosh I love it.

Who is the woman?

St Olga, Great Princess of Kiev, and Equal-to-the-Apostles. She was the first ruler of the land of Rus' to convert to Christianity, and was also the grandmother of St Vladimir of Kiev, who established Orthodoxy as the official faith of that land.

COOL!  I'll have to read up on St. Olga!

I love St. Olga but why does she usually look so angry in icons?

Mikhail Nesterov did a beautiful portrait of her:

It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.

She does not look angry in those icons! Gosh! :) This is reminding me of a psychology class I took and the different descriptions different classmates gave of the same faces (not what the class exercise was supposed to be about, but even more interesting).

That is a beautiful painting you've provided.

Actually

Poor

Rich

But what's inside...
Many Energies, 3 Persons, 2 Natures, 1 God, 1 Church, 1 Baptism, and 1 Cup. The Son begotten only from the Father, the Spirit proceeding only from the Father, Each glorifying the Other. The Son sends the Spirit, the Spirit Reveals the Son, the Father is seen in the Son. The Spirit spoke through the Prophets and Fathers and does so even today.

Patriarch Jeremias II of Constantinople.

Never seen an Orthodox bishop clothed in this fashion. The hat reminds me of a Latin galero and the cassock looks like it has buttons.
You sound like a professional who knows what he's talking about.  That's because you are.

Well, there are other representations of him

Anyway, I think it was happening in past that some of Orthodox Hierarchs wore Roman Catholics style cassocks, and Cardinal hats...

He lived in XIX century.

I did some more research on it and the hat is not, in fact, a galero. It is a Byzantine hat that was secular in nature, denoting  his rank. He would have worn it over his epanokalimavkion, as depicted there.

That is really interesting that the Serbian Patriarch dressed like that for a time. He looks really awesome, not gonna lie.  :D I like the flared collar. :P

The relic of the holy belt of our Lady, which was kept elsewhere for safe-keeping, is processed through the streets and returned to its original home, St Mary's Church ("Um az Zinnar") in Homs, Syria by the Patriarch of Antioch, Mor Ignatius Aphrem II today, 15 August 2014, the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God.

Glory to God!  Holy Theotokos, save us!
Worship is theology, so a church which brings Evangelical and Charismatic "praise & worship" into its corporate life is no longer Orthodox.  It is, by definition, heterodox.  Those "Orthodox" leaders who make theological arguments for the incorporation of heteropraxis into the life of the Church are heretics.

I never thought of it as a centipede chitin hat...to me it was a typical turban, shaped into today's "mitre" standards.
