im just saying even if there's an OO patriarch you don't like, is that a valid reason not to join? There are plenty of Anglican clergy one can dislike as well

Here is (one of the many) reason(s) that I'm not Anglican.

Look at that watch.  She needs to go talk to Patriarch Kyrill on how to get a proper timepiece.  ;D

Watch it, he could excommunicate you. Like what if patriarch Kirill made an account today and that was the first thing he saw. Or what if he's really....MOR EPHREM. You know who he can't excommunicate, though? Me.

The man in the picture I think is called Peter Ball, and as far as I know he was charged with child sexual abuse. How is this any different than the child sex abuse scandal of the Catholic Church ?

The woman in the picture is a British judge. What did she do exactly that would concern me ?

I gave it another chance but it failed. I'm no longer posting on this forum.

The point is Raylight, the reasons for not joining a church you outlined earlier was faulty.

The woman was covering up for the bishop.

Lest anyone accuse me of sexism, these godly women are more warriors than I can ever strive to be:

Why they are not smiling ? I find it very very rare to find Orthodox nuns with smile on their face.  :-\

That's odd. I had just been scrutinizing the picture thinking about how there were nuns smiling in it. Your and my culture must be different.

It's not Christ and St Peter, it's Christ and St Bishoy.  It is from the life of the latter.

I figured it was something like that. I don't know St. Bishoy's story there, but I do know what I take to be the general principle of Christ's act -- "If I then, your Lord and Master ..." -- i.e., that the higher must serve the lower.

The story is that St. Bishoy in the desert took a stranger in his cell and washed his feet and was about to offer him sustenance.  The stranger turned out to be Christ, and as soon as St. Bishoy figured this out, He disappeared.

Back in the early 1970s - my university years - I had a pair of grey and purple plaid bell bottoms. They even had a bit of pink in them so they looked good with either my pink or my purple shirt. Good quality wool. No Nintendo  :D.

The typical Egyptian "Teta" (grandma)...in fact even the clothes in this artwork is apart the same thing my grandma wore!  When I see this artwork, I am filled with peace.

It looks like the white dots in this optical illusion are all orbiting an imaginary point in space that, at the same time, is orbiting the center of that red circle. They are not. In reality, they are all moving in straight lines going from one side of the red circle to the opposite one.
