From left to right: Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Yaqub (Jacob) III, Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, Coptic Orthodox Pope Kyrillos (Cyril) VI, and the late HIM Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia.

I really like this photo. Shame about the poor quality, though.

In my world, these are the Avengers.
Worship is theology, so a church which brings Evangelical and Charismatic "praise & worship" into its corporate life is no longer Orthodox.  It is, by definition, heterodox.  Those "Orthodox" leaders who make theological arguments for the incorporation of heteropraxis into the life of the Church are heretics.

I must admit that when NASA posted the pic on Facebook they did say it was a guy getting a haircut. Still... my description seems more interesting   I guess haircuts in space have a coolness factor as well though.

It would be nice to have a redhead of the day thread in order to get to what is really important and worthwhile quickly.

Here, have at the redhead of the century, Simone Simons.

Nice.

I like your beanie hat.
The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

If one wants to confess a pure doctrine of Orthodoxy, they should be careful not to refer to the earth as a planet, unlike the current Pope as well as Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew, who regularly speak in error when they refer to our planet earth.

Those two maps are quite interesting. German, Somali, Arabic etc. are not the first things that pop my mind when I think of America. Are there any statistics how many percents of whole population non-English/non-Spanish speakers comprise in various states?

Here is a rather interesting report done by the US Census Bureau. There isn't a whole lot of detailed info per state, but there is quite a bit on the whole country.
