Dude, I thought you live in Finland, not in the US.

Huh? What are you referring to? Nostalgy for home region? I don't have slightest of that if we're talking about region we grew up. My nostalgy is more related to Eastern Finlad where I did my studies.

I've never written this before, but if this site had a Facebook thing (I don't have one and never have) where you "like" something, I would "like" this.

The winds were picking up that day and the Patriarch said to hold the Cross up.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Once Christ has filled the Cross, it can never be empty again.

Our president

So how'd he get a wife half his age? Is he really charismatic? rich? just a great guy? Super smart? Power and fame and all that?

So St. Nicholas smashed a Coca-Cola bottle over Arius' head, correct?  Not the punch in the face (or slap on the shoulder) that we have all been led to believe?

I wonder if St. Nicholas ever thought he would become so popular. I believe he deserves it, but I am sure he's also tired of being reduced to Santa Claus.

He alongside Theotokos and Jesus is a part of the Holy Trinity. One cannot get more popular than that.

This is actually an icon depicting the moment before Arius gets a bottle in the face.

"Arius, I'm warning you," says jolly St. Nick.  "You have one chance," he says, while pointing a finger, "to recant and repent of your heresy."

And the rest is history. :)

I think he even overtook Jesus and The Theotokos because he brings coca-cola, while they only bring salvation. Gotta love the times, though. A lot of fun can also be salvific.

Wonderfully bizarre.  I think all mammals are fascinating in the womb.  Your parakeet gif had me cracking up.  I had a parakeet named Jenny and I think this is how she went.  She got herself out of the cage and escaped throught the chimney.
