What?

I checked out the FB album featuring that priest with the rasson and sword.  It describes him as above.  I ♥ it.

I think that instead of pledging loyalty or abjuring earthly nations, they should ask the question "Dost thou renounce Satan, all his ministers, his deeds and his pride?" That would be totally appropriate.

I must say that I'm favourably impressed with the sensible and functional creativity of the Russians to provide a place of worship for the faithful. We've seen pictures of trains, tanks, river boats, and likely other seemingly odd creations. Many North Americans bemoan the fact that the nearest Orthodox church is a lengthy drive. Why aren't our leaders encouraging Russian-style options for those locations? I guess that's a topic for another thread in another forum.

Maybe it's because most of Russia IS Orthodox.

Can you imagine seeing this church making its way down the Mississippi?  ....or a tank church rolling down Mainstreet?   Folks would think it's some sort of parade or something.

You have to measure actual need and use of the mini church against the ridicule and actual harm it might do in the eyes of the populace.

Is it actually a church/chapel that you can go inside of or is it just a buoy that is nice to look at?

No idea, but, why would the Patriarch bless a buoy?

Who knows?

on a longer bike trip yesterday came across with these autum crocuses (colchium autumnale?!). also stole as much lovage I could from the same place as that's a herb  quasi-unknown in the US, but, imo, indispensable to cooking lamb.
