Even triple immersion performed by Latins would be rejected on Athos.

I mean because this is an accepted method of baptism, widely practiced, and entirely uncontroversial.

I don't doubt that Athonites would reject Latin baptism, even if the Latins drowned themselves into oblivion in the process.  But I'm genuinely surprised that the Serbian shower is an accepted form of baptism "widely practiced and entirely uncontroversial".  In all the EO baptisms I've ever seen, the presiders went to great lengths to ensure three full immersions, and anything remotely resembling "three pourings simulating three immersions" was criticised even by some of the attending clergy as probably invalid.  And these guys weren't hyperdox either.

Pouring or sprinkling isn't uncontroversial, but it seems to happen in quite a few places.

How much does a metal trough/container cost that's large enough to baptize someone in? I found some for less than $250...

And yet in neither form is there triple immersion, in this they are the same.  The point here being I tire of how Orthodox pastoral accomodations/innovations get a pass while Catholic ones get derided.

I wouldn't call a pastoral accommodation from the Didache an innovation. I realise that that text only mentions pouring "over the head", and so on a face value reading of it one could also justify modern Catholic practice, but the traditional interpretation is that it means pouring over the head in the manner shown in the picture - i.e. to get as close to tripe-immersion as possible when no source of water is large enough or safe enough to allow for actual immersion. Head-only baptism is quite common in Russia, among other places, but it is considered controversial, so they do not get a "pass" in this respect.

It was just a random gif on a 300+ page thread of gifs on another site. I just scrolled through a page or two, picked the one that made me laugh, and posted it.

Sure they're happy: they're modernists! Some people would point to the western-style collars, or the lack or proper beards... but the real giveaway here is the tinted/changing lenses in the glasses of the guy in the middle. What vanity! What modern extravagance!

Hey, now!!!

That's MY bishop you're talking about!  Be nice.

Not modernist, at all. Best bishop out there!

You're just jealous of his glasses. By the way, they are those that automatically darken in the sunlight and then go back to clear glass indoors.

Although I have not met him personally, I am a great admirer of Bishop Daniel, who does an enormous amount of good work for our holy Church.  I don't know how that man does all that he does, traveling and being in so many places all the time.  Truly the Lord sustains him.  Together with Metropolitan Antony, I believe that we have a great and godly leadership for our Church.

I believe it states that a man (especially clergy) ought to sport a beard.  I do not recall it stating just how many inches long it should be.

Out of curiosity, just how many feet long is yours?

You are soooo right.  I've wondered the same thing.  We, as a Church, are blessed to have him and M. Antony.  Could not have asked for any two stronger, wiser, more active, humble and kind individuals to be our shepherds.

God has truly blessed us by appointing them to our Church.
