Entrance view of St. Simeon Mirotochivi Serbian Orthodox Church....For the Folks that don't understand the word Mirotochivi, translation ,St. Simon the Myrrh Streamer or Myrrh Gusher Do you know if this is an honorary title to churches that have witnessed the phenomenon? Or just a named that can be used in general?

I think Im right That St. Simeon is the Father of St.Sava, Both Very Holy....St.Sava's Remain's were Burned By the Ottoman Turks...If they existed they would ,i believe be myrrh streamers as well........
When we Serbs Celebrate The Slava [feast day] of St.Slava the priest will Bless the Church with wine in a procession around the Church, Named in His Honor and For the Glory of God....

The Church is Named For this Great Serbian Saint, St. Simeon and For the Honor of this Great and Holy Saint ,But most Importantly for the Glory of God ....... It's propably the title of the Saint, not the Church.
CBGardner Do you know if this is an honorary title to churches that have witnessed the phenomenon? Or just a named that can be used in general?
The Church maybe was build and named ,because the people and Clergy ,Have a Strong devotion to this saint, or the main contributor to the building fund wants his patron saint [slavska slava] name on the church or some one experienced some miracle of healing and decided to raise up a church to honor the saint......Many scenarios are possible in building and dedicating a church to a saint....There's several Serbian orthodox Churches dedicated or named for this saint across the country and maybe more in the balkans.....they may all contain pieces of his relics as well....Hope this clarifies it some....

Im not sure about the fresco's....The mosaic ikonastasis was done by the old italian Donelli hope i got his name right...I talked to him a while back ,He said his sons arn't going to continue the tradition..He's ready to retire from the business he's getting up there in age.... Any idea who did the iconography in the altar area? It reminds me of the iconography in St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Greensburg, PA, which I assume was done by Nicholas Papas (who communes there and gives brief talks about icons). Regardless of who did it, it's very nice.

It's propably the title of the Saint, not the Church. I understand now. I thought it was part of the church's name not part of the saint's name.

I'm guessing that's an Orthodox mass and not an RC one. If so, I'm glad to see that they use San Damian's cross since it represents an authentically Roman tradition. Byzantine iconography is Roman too but since Roman's also have their own uniquely Western tradition of iconography why not to use it.

Perhaps this is a Russian Old Believer community? Could the provider of the picture provide the website that this was taken from, or information about the church?

Many people do this whilst praying, usually you cross your arms by placing them just under your shoulders. Perhaps this is a Russian Old Believer community? Could the provider of the picture provide the website that this was taken from, or information about the church?

I saw this three months ago. I think that some Czechs created this cult. An example of how idiotic people become once they leave Christianity is the modern Czech spirituality. Looking at the internet, you find Czechs pissing on crosses, on church walls, but you also see them kissing tarot rings and wearing pagan symbols like we wear crosses.
