So do OO icons not have canonical norms?
I am sure we do to some extent. But, that Icon was Byzantine in style and not OO. I would not really consider it a Holy Icon, which is why I called it an "Image" rather than an "Icon." Pretty much, I just thought it was a cool piece of artwork. Nothing more.
It's in mock Byzantine style, like this: http://walhydra.blogspot.com/2008/06/lord-of-dance.html (very slightly nsfw)

And it's not just that. A lot of the stuff you post seems off. Like why is Abraham in space and what's up with that icon of Gregory of Tathev. A few pages back you had this multicolored rainbow guy or something. Reminded me of a disgusting postmodern RC church I once saw. Are these icons or just interesting religious arts you like to post?

It's most likely a reference to Genesis 26:4:

Quote
I will cause your descendants to become as numerous as the stars of the sky

Ok, that makes sense.

Origen of Alexandria

One of my favorite Church Fathers, and the one who most (after Polycarp) brought me to Orthodoxy.  I read many of his remaining writings as a Lutheran, and they really got me thinking.

BTW:  Below are some of the first palm tree images that I ever saw, so I knew these were palms right away (my interest in WWII history predated my travel to anyplace that actually had palm trees):

It depicts a scene after the battle of Kosovo in 1389, between Turks and Serbs, shortly after which Serbs lost their independence. The painting itself is based upon the poem "Kosovka Devojka", in which a girl is searching her bridegroom on the battlefield and takes care of the wounded and dying, and finally finds a man, Pavle Orlović, who witnessed death of her loved one.

The coat of arms of Serbia is based on the family arms of the former Obrenović dynasty (adopted in 1882) and features the white bicephalic eagle of the Nemanjić dynasty. An ermine cape of the style once worn by kings is featured in the background. The double-headed eagle has been used since the Byzantine era, and the Serbian cross has been used since the 12th century.

Amalia of Oldenburg, Queen of Greece (Greek: Αμαλία, Βασίλισσα της Ελλάδος) (21 December 1818 – 20 May 1875) was Queen consort of Greece from 1836 to 1862 as the spouse of King Otto of Greece (1815–1867).

As the daughter of Duke Paul Frederick Augustus of Oldenburg (later Grand Duke of Oldenburg), she was born a Duchess of Oldenburg. In Greece, the title "Duchess of Oldenburg" was never in use.

When she arrived in Greece in 1837, she at first won the hearts of the Greeks with her refreshing beauty. After the Queen became more politically involved, however, she became the target of harsh attacks - and her image suffered further as she proved unable to provide an heir. After an uprising, she and her husband were expelled from Greece in 1862. She spent the rest of her years in exile in Bavaria.
