Don't you dare insult her! Her name is Heddy and we're in love!
Christ my God, set my heart on fire with love in You, that in its flame I may love You with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my soul and with all my strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that by keeping Your commandments I may glorify You the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

Metropolitan Alexios and Elder Efraim escort the Panagia Vimatarissa icon to the Panagia Chapel (Diakonia Retreat Center, Salem, SC)

This is a replica of the one at Vatopedi and I don't know why my Metropolis is blessed like this but it is.

Because the Metropolitan has a long relationship with the Vatopedi Monastery.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Once Christ has filled the Cross, it can never be empty again.

They came to the Cathedral in Atlanta; the abbot served the DL, and the monks replaced the choir.
Is any of the above Orthodox?  I have no clue, so there's that.

I didn't actually know about that also happening so I drove back after Saturday instead of staying over in Atlanta.

Anyway it's more a thought that I'm unworthy of the metropolis and my bishop anyway.
And he said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and those in authority over them are called benefactors. But not so with you; rather let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves." Luke 22:25-26

Oh gosh.  I'm sure he'd disagree!
I'm just still on an email list I really shouldn't be, but likely that was a rare opportunity for us, so I took it.  I personally wouldn't have crossed state lines, so if there's anything to feel bad about, I'm guilty too.  :)

I looked this up. It is a Krupp Autoped. Possibly the first motorized scooter. They were sold everywhere. The US Postal Service used them.
If you cannot remember everything, instead of everything, I beg you, remember this without fail, that not to share our own wealth with the poor is theft from the poor and deprivation of their means of life; we do not possess our own wealth but theirs.  If we have this attitude, we will certainly offer our money; and by nourishing Christ in poverty here and laying up great profit hereafter, we will be able to attain the good things which are to come. - St. John Chrysostom

“God,”
The words rumbled:
“There is much suffering,
But the church is alive. "

“How long, Archpriest, are we to suffer thus?” I answered: “Until our very death, Markovna!” And she replied, with a sigh: “So be it, Petrovich, let us plod on.” - Life of Avvakum by Himself

Nastasya, Nastasya, be
patient and do not cry:
Not every happiness
Comes in the clothing of fortune.

St. Ambrose, pray for us!

Bring back powder blue baseball uniforms.

I've sometimes wanted the league to bring back the worst uniforms for each team for one night, just for fun.

Are you implying those aren't amazing?

St. Avvakum, pray for us!

St. Ambrose, pray for us!

Hideous, though still not quite as bas as the Steelers jailhouse jerseys...
