Pictures taken by me from the foot pilgrimage from Warsaw (more precisely, Wołomin) to the Holy Mount Grabarka:

Part 1

Part 2

Grabarka

Pictures taken by a man that's Catholic, used to be a mayor of the one of the villages we're passing trough on the first days, and overs the years he's been goign with us some distance on the 1st and the 5th day of the pilgrimage:

The first day - Liturgy in Wołomin

Wołomin

The first day

The fifth day - Klelotowo

Being close to Grabarka

Going on the kneels around the Transfiguration church on the Holy Mount Grabarka

Saying goodbye (well, not exactly, as most of the people stay for 2 days on the mount to participate in the solemnities of the Iverian icon on the 18th August and then of the Transfiguration feast) ; the pictures don't show that after some words of the clergy and singing Many years each person kisses 3 times each other, the ones that have participated in the pilgrimage more times know each better, so such people hugh each other; just imaigne, 160 x 3 kisses!

But everybody was literally sweating, as it was after passing 30 kms on that day and going on kneels around the church, all of this in heavy sun but.. since everybody was like that, no one bothered.

Yeah, my germ phobia might restrict me to yuppie "hover kissing" in that case lol...
Christ my God, set my heart on fire with love in You, that in its flame I may love You with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my soul and with all my strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that by keeping Your commandments I may glorify You the Giver of every good and perfect gift. I still do this to a large extent.  It's not germs, though; it's mostly Victorianism.
Is any of the above Orthodox?  I have no idea, so there’s that.

Can someone clarify if this thread is for pictures in general or is it just one person posts a picture every day?

I love that sweater and that beard, though.

Classical sweater for old and being in medium age men in Polish villages. Not so long ago - true also for towns and cities.

Given what I know about the way fashion works, a hundred 20-something American hipsters are now going to read this post and start wearing sweaters like that even in hot weather.

From the company that makes my new antiseizure medication. Not sure why they have me on it, as I have RRMS, not epilepsy. This turned out to be a card with a USB widget that leads to the company's website. Really, they could have just sent me a generic paper card.

Ugh why?

Here's what the German wiki article on it says (translated with Google):

"The planning took place in time with the Second Vatican Council . Against the background of the spirit of renewal of the renewal movement, the brothers argued with the architect for the shape of their church. The church building consciously chose design language and symbolism for people of the 20th century. On 1 September 1964, the 25th anniversary of the German invasion of Poland, the church was consecrated as the "Church of Peace in a world that can not come to peace" (Annual Report 1958). The building is characterized by the simplicity of the floor plan and a striking simplicity of the equipment for a Catholic church. On the outside, the widely visible church of red-brown clinker bricks looks like a big castle or a ship." (wikip)

It reminds me of a prison.

Laguage and symbolism of the 20th (and, so far, 21st) century, amirite?

That's amateur ugliness. Check out the Roman Catholic cathedral in Rio. It literally looks like some UFO will spinningly fly out.

should be painted with byzantine frescoes

That would work in the German example. I'm not sure how the Church in Rio would do it (other than with billboards like the Muslims did in the Hagia Sophia lol).
Christ my God, set my heart on fire with love in You, that in its flame I may love You with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my soul and with all my strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that by keeping Your commandments I may glorify You the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

That's amateur ugliness. Check out the Roman Catholic cathedral in Rio. It literally looks like some UFO will spinningly fly out.

More proof that my pilgrimage to Rio will have nothing to do with visiting shrines and everything to do with going to beaches with RaphaCam so I can gawk at women and he, with his vast experience in all things Brazil, can warn me in case there is reason to suspect I’m actually accidentally gawking at trannies.

There is indeed that risk in Rio, but that's a common mistake due to the pervasive beach wear.  The beautiful women in Brazil are found 3 states further South from Rio.

Our winter is the best time to go to the beach. The water and winde are usually acceptable and it's not crowded.
