It's photo-shopped. If it wasn't, I would think it's time to move out of England, because I think there's no hope left for that country.

Ignore our Oliver Cromwell statue in front of Parliament, you bigoted, racist Americans. How could you possibly enslave and kill people, and be unashamed of it, by having monuments to mass-murderers! Ignore this picture of Trevelyan as well - he was a pretty awesome knight.

Why do you assume so, when the remarkable fact is that, while there's total destruction around the surviving icons, they did survived virtually unscathed?

Remember that Russia was using the old rite for thousands of years before nikons  changes and God blessed them with many holy saints use the old rite sometime  pray a lestovka  some time or cross yourself with 2 fingers say the old rite form of a prayer chant two alleluias and not three

Russia used the Old Rite for less than thousand years and the "New Rite" is definitely not as innovative as Old Believers would claim.

Let me hit you guys with some historical. Egyptians/Syrians/Palestinians changed things up and a short time later God let the Saracens take over; Romans changed things up and a short time later God let the Franks took over; Byzantines change things up and a short time later God let the Turks take over; Russians changed things up and a short time later God let the communists take over.

Thanks. Poetry doesn't translate well into other languages. Still beautiful in English too. I wish we had Saints oozed into our national culture.
I presume you're not counting Perkele as a saint.

"Perkele" was apparently originally a Pagan god in the Baltics but nowadays it's associated with Satan. Hence the use as a profanity. While his name might be called upon quite often in numerous occasions he's not exactly a Saint. :P
I was kidding. A Finn said he was the granddad of Satan. Another said he was the granddad of Santa. Not sure whether both legends are correct or the latter was just taking a mickey.

There's a video of a Finn scaring a bear away from his back porch.  He used that word.  It is quite funny.

I spent last weekend in Podlasie (the most Orthodox region in Poland) because of a quite feamous folk festival in Czeremcha:

Me (I wish I'd taken my normal camera, the pics would be of much better quality); now I think that (if God grants me finally a husband) I'll wear a wreath with white flowers instead of a veil for my wedding, both to church (it would be nice composition with the crown) and for the reception).

One of many Orthodox churches here

People from Podlasie are known from hospitality, this is a meal between breakfast and dinner

Wle,, maybe... However, there are a few types of cakes, some tortiallas, a few types of meat etc. And many alkohol drinks (that we don't drink at breakfast). So i'm not sure.

What do they call such a meal?

Alcohol with breakfast foods (and some lunch items) is called brunch in US.  Well, a person could have brunch without booze, but it is rather pointless.

Second breakfast?
Wle,, maybe... However, there are a few types of cakes, some tortiallas, a few types of meat etc. And many alkohol drinks (that we don't drink at breakfast). So i'm not sure.

What do they call such a meal?
Actually, we were after a big breakfast. But some friends called us to join their party/performance, it was early afternoon. Actually we'd call it a family/friends gathering on a free day, just it. And after spending there 2 hours or a bit more, we had other attractions in another village, including dinner.

Alcohol with breakfast foods (and some lunch items) is called brunch in US.  Well, a person could have brunch without booze, but it is rather pointless.
We don't have such thing.

I know it's not the first such type of cake, but still enjoying them (well, actually, I haven't tried any):
