Good luck.
Good luck, indeed!
Thanks. :) The thing is I can easily see lawyers, judges, public defenders, on some of my colleagues, while as for myself I still don't get why I'm on Law school. I almost studied German on university, but at the last moment I feared for my economical stability. Now I see how dumb it was to think studying Law would grant me anything here.

Don't you already know Mexican?

Further specialization makes you more marketable.
I know Mexican and Kraut, but I've never studied Mexican formally, and my Kraut certificate is probably insufficient. My English certificate is high tier, but I should get an actual degree to be a good and qualified teacher. I think an English degree would also qualify me to teach Portuguese.

What are the Barrios like?

I seen online video of not nice or likely illegal things happening in brazil.

By barrios you mean the favelas? Some of them are fine (my church is in the entrance of one and we haven't gotten much problem), some are inhospitable. I never went to the insides of a favela in my life, although I'd cross world-notorious Cidade de Deus daily.

The long-form answer to this Yahoo question about leg pain is the clearest explanation of the Orthodox faith I've ever seen.
Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

THE OPINIONS HERE MAY NOT REFLECT THE ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED ORTHODOX CHURCH

Geez, that was a much more thorough catechesis than I've ever had.

Ever been with a Calvinist hooker?  Utterly depraved.

That's a filthy lie! Her name was Grace, and she was irresistible!

Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to hug your girlfriends because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who hugs his girlfriend, except it be a Christian side-hug, commits fornication.”

The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a boyfriend and girlfriend, it is better not to hug.”

Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. For there are side-huggers who were born that way, and there are side-huggers who have been made that way by others—and there are those who choose to be side-huggers for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

Worship is theology, so a church which brings Evangelical and Charismatic "praise & worship" into its corporate life is no longer Orthodox.  It is, by definition, heterodox.  Those "Orthodox" leaders who make theological arguments for the incorporation of heteropraxis into the life of the Church are heretics.

I bought a bike at Walmart today and am in the process of walking/riding it home. I stopped halfway (at the library) for a breather. If I never post on here again then I have passed on, please say a prayer for me.

Hyperdox Herman works at my local public library. There was a random selection of books supposedly related to Easter at library's hallway. One of them was St. John Damascene's book on icons. Pretty heavy stuff for a random bypasser. I wonder what they are talking about at employee's coffee hours.

Michael Jordan
تا آنجا که من می دانم که مایکل جردن هیچ ارتباط با ایران و نه مردم زیبا آن است.

Tomorrow to Netherlands. Work-related so no time for touristing but never been there before so should be fun.

The A to Z of the Orthodox Church By Michael Prokurat, Alexander Golitzin, Michael D. Peterson
lists three main 1st c. Christian heretic groups: Judaizers, Docetists, and Dualists, on p. 12. For the 2nd c., it lists gnostics, modalists, and montanists.

I was confused at first as I remembered reading an A to Z by Fr. John McGuckin, but apparently that one was on patristic theology... how many A to Zs are there I wonder...

2nd century gnostics were the bomb though... er, I mean, in a filthy evil heretic sort of way  :police:
