Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me.

« on: February 28, 2011, 06:26:27 PM »

The last year of my life has been one of trial, temptation and heartbrake as I move closer and closer to Christ's Holy Church. Things have no truly looked up for a long time, and I do not expect them to get better soon, but only worse as I near the appointed time of my illumination.

As I am to be received by baptism on the Feast of the Entrance of our Lord, please keep me in your prayers during this Great and Holy Lent, that I may run this race in preparation for the race marked out for me after holy baptism, whatever that may look like.

You mean on February 2nd, 2012?

Or did you mean by "Feast of the Entrance", the Entry into Jerusalem, as in Palm Sunday of this year?

Or did you mean by "Feast of the Entrance", the Entry into Jerusalem, as in Palm Sunday of this year?

The local nomenclature I'm familiar with is that February 2nd is known as the "Meeting of the Lord (in the Temple)" and that Palm Sunday is know as the "Entrance of the Lord (into Jerusalem)."

So, in my mind anyway: "Entrance = Palm Sunday" and "Meeting = Candlemas."

Then of course you have the "Presentation (of the Theotokos)". Wink

I would like to thank you all for your prayers.

I was received yesterday into the Holy Orthodox Church by baptism. I have a joy and peace that I haven't had in...probably ever. Please continue to remember me as I struggle to keep clean the baptismal robe our Lord has given me.
