Malankara Church Will Insist on Celebrating Alcohol free Christmas
KOTTAYAM: The Holy Episcopal Synod decided to observe October, November and December as months of anti-alcohol awareness drive in order to combat the wrong tendency in the society, namely alcohol abuse. The Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan Baselius Marthoma Didymus I presided over the Holy Episcopal Synod.
The Church will insist and motivate the society to celebrate Christmas and New Year devoid of alcohol and this initiative is part of the anti-alcohol awareness drive. Documentaries describing the dangers of alcohol addiction, distribution of pamphlets and handouts, seminars on alcohol addiction centering schools, colleges, and parishes, counseling, and essay competition etc. are the activities planned for the anti-alcohol awareness drive.
