The translation to church of the bread called "pasti" (pashti) (lit. 'pascha'), on the great Thursday. This bread should presumably be blessed and used at St. Basil's liturgy on the Great Saturday and then, sprinkled/soaked with wine is distributed to all people on Easter night, after matins or matins and liturgy.
Many villages in Transylvania attach great importance to this bread and have developed these customs associated with it.

In Poland we bless eggs, meat, horseradish etc. too.
