I've heard some of the things Bart Ehrman has had to say, and he's nothing but an ex-Protestant who is disgrunted and ****** off that his precious (and heterodox) beliefs turned out to be wrong. Unfortunately those heterodox beliefs, and discovering them to be wrong, led him to a militant atheism where he actively tries to fight Christianity and it's legitimacy.
This guy has no bearing on the Orthodox Church and nothing he can do can even shake our foundations. He's an atheist and while it's shocking to us to see him slander the scriptures, the Saints and Christians, he's just a pebble being blown up against an impenetrable wall.
On a side, the very simple fact he's trying to apply modern scholarship/historical standards to ancient ones shows how immature his own scholarship is. Even the best scholars don't try to apply modern morals or standards to older periods. You just cannot do that.
