a silly question about fast food, first jobs, and Church...
« on: February 16, 2011, 11:56:59 PM »
Hello, All.  well, I will be driving very soon, and this summer I'm going to get a job at the local taco bell and start a "gas fund" in a jar under my bed (shh!  don't tell my sister!).  I realize that I will need to ask for specific days off up front to attend Church services, as fast food places are notoriously bad at giving you spurr of the moment days off.  I am going to ask for every Sunday and two Saturdays a month off.

since I'm still new to Orthodoxy, what are some holidays that I am rather obligated to take off from work to go to Church?  Pascha, obviously.  any others?

thanks!

Any Chick-fil-A's nearby? All of them are closed on Sundays, so you would only have to ask for Saturday off (and other specific holidays).
Note : Many of my posts (especially the ones antedating late 2012) do not reflect charity, tact, or even views I presently hold. Please forgive me for any antagonism I have caused.

i know this thread is old now, but if the Chik-fil-a option is available, please try and do that!! Not only will you be able to attend liturgy, but it is a much better environment to work in!
Even if we have thousands of acts of great virtue to our credit, our confidence in being heard must be based on God's mercy and His love for men. Even if we stand at the very summit of virtue, it is by mercy that we shall be saved.
