I found this interesting blog and an entry concerning works attributed to Saint Ephrem which are not his:

So Mar Ephrem did not use the term "Theotokos" as some say. On this topic, I'd like to say that Mar Ephrem's Church in which he served as Deacon (Shamasha) says he never wrote a book called "Songs of praise" I see some people quoting as support for him using this title. Many of these works were written by others like Cosmas of Maiuma.
