..about gluttony. However I only had a very small meal today and my sexual passions are stronger than ever right now. Anytime I eat some food I get this sensation to have sex, please pray for me. I don't know what I can do.

St John of The Ladder says, #19. "Do not trust that because of abstinence you will not fall. One who had never eaten was cast out of Heaven (Satan)"

And this is the key: #24. "He who has resolved to contend with his flesh and conquer it himself struggles in vain. For unless the Lord destroys the house of the flesh and builds the house of the soul, the person who wants to destroy it watches and fasts in vain (Psalm 126:1)"

His book, The Ladder of Divine Ascent has 90 short chapters concerning the battle with this enemy of purity. I heard from the Fathers that unless we conquer this spirit, we cannot possess any of the virtues.

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

-John 15:5

         They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman keeps awake in vain.

O Lord grant health, salvation, visitation, pardon and remission of sins to thy servant, struggling in his passions, that he may strive in a spiritual manner of living, both thinking and doing those things well-pleasing unto Thee, that he may rise up from his sins and praise Thee to Whom is due all glory, honor and worship, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever unto ages of ages. Amen.

Thank you very much for your prayers. Right now I'm in agonizing pain to do the action, Lord have mercy on me.

Uh yeah it is. What's your deal?

Just ignore him, really.

May God help you. I remember when I was a teen. Food wasn't necessary... staring at wallpaper was enough to make me think about sex. Not an easy time.

What helped you get over it? I think I'm in the same boat as you, I'm not a teen though. It's interesting my sexual passions increased much more after high school...

You should really try Hesychasm and the Jesus Prayer to get your mind and heart still. St Isaac the Syrian said that the Kingdom of Heaven is within your heart.

Read this book:

Hesychia as a Method of Healing

http://www.pelagia.org/htm/b02.en.orthodox_psychotherapy.05.htm

I find that when i'm all distracted and my mind is going 100 mph, I am much more pron to fall into temptation. We have to still ourselves.

Read this.

Not to put too much of a point on the subject (forgive me), but are speaking of "lust" or "arousal".

For the longest time I could pretty much tell you the time of day due to the rhythm of my arousal when younger. And that sort of arousal had NIL to do with lust. Now, lust would often follow after arousal, but not necessarily.

If that is TMI, forgive me again.
