Does anyone have any akathists, canons or other services to St. Mark of Ephesus that you could post? Tomorrow is his feast on the Old Calendar and he is one that I greatly admire and respect and I would love to honor in whatever way I can. Smiley Thanks in advanced!

A troparion and kontakion. Wink

Troparion (Tone 4)

    By your profession of faith, O all-praised Mark
    The Church has found you to be a zealot for truth.
    You fought for the teaching of the Fathers;
    You cast down the darkness of boastful pride.
    Intercede with Christ God to grant forgiveness to those who honor you!

Kontakion (Tone 3)

    Clothed with invincible armor, O blessed one,
    You cast down rebellious pride,
    You served as the instrument of the Comforter,
    And shone forth as the champion of Orthodoxy.
    Therefore we cry to you: "Rejoice, Mark, the boast of the Orthodox!"

Too bad we don't have a common synaxis for the Three Pillars of Orthodoxy (SS. Photios the Great, Palamas of Thessaloniki, and Mark Evgenikos of Ephesos).

St John of Kronstadt Press has a menaion entry for him for $3.30. (SJKP has absolutely awful navigation and I can't give a direct link; just search for "Ephesus" at http://www.sjkp.org/) Presumably that would include his canon and other materials that could be used to assemble a paraklesis/moleben.

You won't have it by tomorrow, but SJKP has lots of good stuff for future reference. Being able to get the individual menaion entries is very helpful.

The Holy Transfiguration Monastery Menaion has full services for St Mark of Ephesus: we offered Vespers for him on Monday evening. It's a lovely service, with three quite long readings from the Wisdom of Solomon. However, only available in the very large format bound volume for January of the set of 12. Too late for you now, anyway.

Today is also my name day. It is my habit to bring my Icon of St. Mark to Church on this day if there is a Service. We are hosting the Kursk Root Icon tonight and tomorrow so we are having a special mid week Vigil and Liturgy, so I think I will bring my Icon.

Well many years to you, Marc! Smiley The Kursk Root Icon is coming to us next week at this time. I am very excited.
