Is Miss Stewart wearing the bracelet because she thinks it's cool, or because she's Orthodox (or seriously interested in it)? Chotki are not charm bracelets.

Oh boy, I just saw that her co-star, Robert Pattinson, is always wearing the same thing. It looks like prayer ropes are taking hollywood by storm... http://prayerbracelet.blogspot.com/2010/12/religious-bracelets-robert-pattinson.htmlAFAIK, she is not Orthodox, and seeing that her co-star is wearing one too make me think that they are most likely using them for little more than to make a fashion statement... edit: Ok, now the plot thickens...more stars coming out of the woodwork: http://www.prayer-bracelet.com/blog/fashion/prayer-bracelet-hollywood-discovers-the-prayer-rope/"The Prayer Bracelet is a very popular item that couples give to each other in Orthodox countries. The thought behind it is that you want your partner to be kept from harm."

Now the Orthodox can empathize with the Catholics and understand how they felt when Madonna started wearing rosaries as jewelry back in the 80's.

Well, if you consider how many people have worn crosses for less than Christian purposes throughout the ages, this isn't really that big a deal.

Although I would say it is more egregious of an offense, because oftentimes crosses are worn passively, even by the faithful (although used as reminders), while prayer ropes are intended to actively be used for devotional purposes...and specifically not to be used for 'ornamental' purposes... just my 2c

They sell icon bracelets too. The site says they are made in monastries, but it doesn't say which monastries they are made in. That seems somewhat suspect to me. I have seen much nicer icon bracelets elsewhere.

They are boyfriend/girlfriend as far as I know.
Do we know for sure that they aren't Orthodox, or aren't converting?

If this was the case, then that would mean that Colin Farrell, David Duchovny, Matthew Mcconaughey, Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green were as well, which I find to be highly unlikely (note that they all started wearing them around the same time also).

Let us pray that the wearing of these may bring some 'star' of a fan of the 'star' closer to Christ by causing him or her to make further serious inquiry into the true purpose. Remember, the ways of God are mysterious indeed.
