Email in Bulgarian, I think
« on: January 20, 2011, 09:53:06 PM »
I received an email from someone in Bulgaria, but the email is written in Latin script...do Bulgarians ever do that (for convenience?)

Google translate can't handle it. Can someone help me out here?

Thanks,

Fr. Anastasios

Could the language be Romanian? Their language is very similar to Latin.

Bless, Father,

Send an email to AntonI - he's an old friend in the UK from ByzCath. You should be able to pull up his email, as he's registered here also, though he doesn't post anywhere very often due to time constraints with his studies. He's Bulgarian Orthodox and reads/writes Bulgarian, as I recollect. He's always glad to help out with issues.

Many years,

Neil

Father:

Email the message to me and I will have my Bulgarian foster son translate it for you.

Yes, Bulgarians do this sometimes on the Internet, sms, etc.
For example: "как си?" would be "kak si?"

Married to a Bulgarian and she uses Latin for her posts on the Bulgarian forum.  If you have difficult getting it translated let me know and I will ask her to translate for you.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will send it to Orthodoc since I know him personally. I'm pleased that so many people are willing to help.
