Here we have a more convenient look at the flags in the Stefan's office:



The Sun of Vergina is again well-visible as part of the unofficial nationalist flag of this country (used as a state flag in the period 1992-95).
By the way, is the office of a church head the right place for such national and patriotic symbols (moreover perceived as an offence by some of the neighbouring countries)?

I've seen a fresco of a sponsor in one Church in Bulgaria too.

BTW it's an old tradition, you know:

Good comparison with the fresco of the "antient" sponsor Mr Risto Goushterov - indeed a person of the same value as Tsar Samuel of Bulgaria!  Grin

BTW, such a sponsor is called κτήτωρ!
