Here we have a more convenient look at the flags in the Stefan's office:

The Sun of Vergina is again well-visible as part of the unofficial nationalist flag of this country (used as a state flag in the period 1992-95).
By the way, is the office of a church head the right place for such national and patriotic symbols (moreover perceived as an offence by some of the neighbouring countries)?

Another great fresco from the same church of Radovish (Republic of Macedonia) - the sponsor and his family (left and centre) are painted together with Tsar Samuel of Bulgaria (right):

I've seen a fresco of a sponsor in one Church in Bulgaria too.

BTW it's an old tradition, you know:

Justinian in Ravenna

Constantine IX Monomachus and Empress Zoe from Hagia Sophia

Good comparison with the fresco of the "antient" sponsor Mr Risto Goushterov - indeed a person of the same value as Tsar Samuel of Bulgaria!  ;D

BTW, such a sponsor is called κτήτωρ!

Btw, what eventually happened?
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

At least then they will be in communion with a legitimate, canonical Orthodox Church. Whew!
